Default Allow us to un-customise weapons!

You all know you can customise a weapon (white, blue, purple, gold or green) at a weapon merchant and make it deal % more damage.

The draw back being that you can not trade customised weapons.

This is fine if you dont expect to sell it and you think you will use it until the forsee-able future. But...

...what if you need gold desperately and its worth quite a bit.
...What if you find a better green and no longer need it.
...What if you have given alot of customised greens to heroes, but need to use them for gold.

But the weapon it customised and you cant trade it.

Is it unfair to ask that we be able to pay a charge to uncustomised our weapons?

I dont really see a reason we shouldnt be able to, because its not going to add a sudden influx of new weapons onto the market, because there already are loads.

if ur ganna "need" to sell your weapons for gold then dont custimize them ..

when u custimize, u make a choice, that your going to keep the weapon forever, and dont want to sell it ..

The title says it all.

You fail to understand the point in customising. Only an idiot uses an uncustomised weapon anyway... or you might aswell use this unmodded collectors weapon and customise that.

1. This has been suggested and argued over many times before, and just turns into a flame war towards the thread starter.

2. It makes no sense, you customize to get added damage, at the cost of not being able to re-sell the item at the market price. If what you are asking is to be implemented, they may as well just add +20% damage to all weapons in the first place and get rid of the customization feature.

I think you can guess from this post, but here it is anyway /notsigned

I fail to miss the point about customising? How have I missed the point? I havent at any point stated that customising is for anything other then increasing damage!

But because I give uncustomised green weapons to my heroes, to use temporarily before I find a need for gold and decide to sell them...

...that makes me an idiot?

Personally I say that makes me very long sighted to realise I might need to sell them for gold in the future.

Adding 20% more damage to a weapon doesnt make the player. Having 20% more damage doesnt make you better then the next guy. You might have a customised weapon and have a rubbish build or have no clue at all.

But Im not trying to devalue the need for customising weapons, all im suggesting is we be able to pay a fee to have that customisation removed. Its perfectly ok to realise at a later date, that you might not need or want that weapon anymore and wish to sell it. Especially if its a green which you cant just get again so easily.

If its a high fee, then fine, I accept that.

But I dont understand what aspect of customising I'm meant to have missed?

The part you missed, is that it's customized.

Let me move it to a different level for you, let's say I customize my desk at school for example by carving intricate patterns into it. I can't just remove them carvings, the top of the desk would need a new layer or a layer removed. You might say that it is just like it was before, but it isn't, it will become either a little bigger or a little smaller, therefore still being customized as it is not how it was. Taking that into account, customizing that desk becomes a permanent effect. You can remove the initial customization but you add a new customization in doing so and never being able to get back to it's original state.

I agree with Diddy on this one, that is a nice idea that I haven't come across before and I would agree to that one.

"...what if you need gold desperately and its worth quite a bit?"
You should have thought about that before customizing the weapon.

"...What if you find a better green and no longer need it?"
Use it for your heroes. I never customize gold and usually never green items.

"...What if you have given a lot of customised greens to heroes, but need to use them for gold?"
Do not customize them... (or identify them and sell them to a merchant for 25...100g, XD)

You answered yourself: "The draw back being that you can not trade customised weapons."
This suggestion is like asking to being able to swim in the sea without sea.

I only customize green items when I have multiple copies of it, for example.
All my Zenmai have a nice pair customized Entrop Daggers.

If, as you said, 20% in not a great thing... you don't need to customize them.
Use tem without customizing them. You can use them even if you do not customize them.

agreed on you point , but i do think that the OP would be willing to pay to have un-customised. so with that anology, just pay to re-layer your desk

There is a reason why you have to "bind" a weapon to your character in order to get the full effect from it. It's not something they thought up on a whim and just happened to have stayed in the game for 2 years. They added it as an item sink which is needed in mmo's.

By the same logic, why not be able to trade armor? God forbid should some individuals find *better* armor as they kept playing and wanted to sell their old one.

It would be convenient for the individual player on a short term basis, but it would hurt the economy in the long run.

I knew someone was going to say that :P But I like my patterns

He said he would be willing to pay for it, but it just defies the logic of customizing an item in the first place. As stated a few times already, you customize at the loss of never being able to re-sell at market value. I'm surprised people are still thinking of this new and wonderful idea..

I disagree. Customising is a commitment to a particular weapon - if you want to make money from it, sell it. If you don't want it, give it to a hero or don't buy it in the first place.

Keep the current system.

/not signed for obvious reason, if u aint sure about keeping the weapon, dont do it

BUT, since there are ppl rerolling their characters, for the survivor or LDoA Titles or just to change the skin .. a customized item should be reusable IF the char has the same name, class and is on the same account

I agree with that, but not to carry it over to armour for obvious reasons.

Might aswell remove customization of weapons and give every weapon +20% damage.

The way it currently works is fine. If you want the additional 20% damage, you customize it. By customizing it, you make it so nobody else can use it. If you plan on selling the item, don't customize it, and lose out on the additional damage.

I like this idea. It gives me ideas!

Create PvP character, make perfect weapon, with perfect mods, etc.
Uncustomize weapon and put it in storage.
Load PvE character that is level 2 in Kamadan, retrieve weapon from storage.
Customize weapon.

Skin might not be anything fancy, but the weapon would be max damage, require 9, with max mods.... and free of charge!

/sarcasm

Think of it like this.

You get a nice gold wep. you deside to custimize it becuase you plan to use it forever etc.

Then you come across a green or another gold thats better then the one your using. So since you cant sell it sinces its custimized. you Stash it and put it in Storage.

You do this for maybe all your characters and the same things happened you find a better one etc. And you deside to stash those Wepaons too.

Well Eventatlly your going to have a shlt load of weps unsellable in Storage that you no longer use becuase youv got better ones. And No point in destroying them becuase that would be a waste.

So Uncustimization should be implemented so if your stuck with a shlt load of weps that you cant sell becuase they are custimized and they keep building up and up and no point in destroyin them becuase they are of Value.
